CFT provides a number of services to England’s Community Forests. These include:

1) Recruitment and employment services

CFT offers recruitment and employment services to the Community Forests.

In addition, CFT supports medium term talent and succession issues including knowledge management, contingency planning, succession planning and graduate programmes.

2) Land holdings and acquisitions

Either through CFT directly or through the CFT Land Trust, CFT can be involved in the acquisition and holding of any land that supports the Community Forests and their delivery programmes.

CFT will also provide support as required to any acquisition processes. This support may come from the Core Team, Trustees or other expert advice procured through CFT.

3) Fundraising

CFT has traditionally been a channel for raising funds for the Community Forests. CFT continues to do this and to administer any funds received.

4) Support Delivery Programmes

CFT is the accountable body for a number of delivery programmes. We also provide support for various woodland creation programmes including the multi-million pound UK Government DEFRA-funded Trees for Climate Programme.

5) New Community Forests

CFT has supported the process of bringing forward new forests and working with them successfully establish.

6) Knowledge exchange, coaching and support

CFT provides support to community forests on a range of strategic and operational issues and needs. This includes providing training, induction, information/templates/best practice, coaching support and secretariat for meetings.

7) Advocacy, lobbying and representation

CFT seeks to raise profile of the Community Forests and make representations as appropriate with, and on behalf of, the Community Forests
